Friends Forever Ministry Trips to the greater Montego Bay area are to public schools, child care homes, communities, and
through churches
during Vacation Bible School outreach. These outreach and relief trips are who
we are, but they are separate financially, and are not used as a
fundraising source for the ministry. The cost expense for week trips and
internship covers: round trip air travel; housing; meals;
and ground transportation while "on site" for ministry.
An independent, five-member Board of Directors
directs and guides the work of this ministry, registered in the state of North
Carolina as a non-profit religious educational 501(c)3
organization. The leadership responds directly
to the
Board of Directors. Two of the Board members, Laurie Muirhead/Treasurer, and
David A. Sutphin/Secretary have served the ministry from its inception.
Additionally Tom Whidden/Vice-President (since 2007) and Kenneth Johnson
(since 2000) serve this
ministry leadership team. Our diverse group represents different church
affiliations: Rhema Bible Church; Evangel Fellowship International; Oral
Roberts Ministries Ministerial Alliance; and the Assemblies of God.
In the USA, Friends Forever sponsors
The Gathering
Missions Weekend each year for leaders and young people. Additionally,
Mark Muirhead is available for speaking ministry. During the last six years he
has traveled across the
United States, Jamaica and Guyana, South America.
There is also a Board of Reference of five business people who recommend this
ministry. Additionally we have two Honorary Board of Directors:
Mrs. Rev. E. Cookman of Dunn, North Carolina; and Rev. Thomas E. Pace, Pastor of
the Grace Fellowship Church, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
More information is available online concerning our former
Vice-President
Charles H. Cookman. We have posted his Memorial Service, pictures and other
information
online. He served twelve years from 1995 to 2007. His final statement in the
last Board Meeting (2006) he attended, after reviewing the Montego Bay Channel
93 report was, "...this will multiply..."
Although this organization is non-denominational and not officially aligned with
any one denomination, we agree our purpose is
to go where there are
open community doors,
and work with many churches in the body of the Lord Jesus Christ, "...so
that none should perish, but all have everlasting life..."
